Coventry Cheerleaders Gemini EVERY CHILD MATTERS
*GEMINI IS ON THE MOVE*
Soon we became the Official Cheerleaders to Coventry City, Speedway, Stock Cars, Ice Hockey also, you name it we did it. We became known as 'The Crew'.
We were so succesful that demand dictated a Junior Team be formed and on 6th January 1996, 'The Gemini Cheerleaders' were born.
Eventually we will put it ALL on a history page but in brief, for now, the Gemini Cheerleaders evolved into the Gemini Cheerleading Programme with children as young as 2, boys and girls, getting together each week to share common passions - Friendship and Cheerleading.
Each year we attend the UKCA National Championships - EVERYONE attends and through team work and hard work have won trophy after trophy and have qualified for 7 European Championships. As a UKCA/UK representing Team - we have attended 6 European Championships: Manchester, Sweden-twice, Moscow, Denmark & Norway.
Gemini Senior Team Members have represented the UKCA/UK at World level at all 4 World Championships: Manchester, twice to Japan and this year Disneyworld Florida.
Gemini's success is measured more by the individual success of each member of the Gemini family than trophies won. The trophies are great and we have 100 and odd, but Gemini is all about our cheerleaders, the people behind the uniform.
We train to be the best we can be with 'The Best'. Attitude without 'attitude' and through this we have trained a prolific amount of Cheer Coaches with the Geminii nfluencebeing felt in Schools and Communities throughout Coventry and the UK. Team members have started University Teams, School Teams and Teams of thier own near and far so the things we strive for at GEMINI traverse barriers of all sorts and provides fun and success for all.
Everyone has something special inside them but it doesn't always find a way out. Through friendship and careful coaching we aim to encourage every person to try something they never thought they would do and be part of our team. Through this we have achieved far more than trophies.
Everyday 'kids' and 'adults' have joined Gemini and gone from beginner to cheerleding at National Level. In fact, our Adult/Master cheerleaders, The Precious Gems, hold 3 National titles. We perform at Charity Events, Fetes, Carnivals. Our cheerleaders have supported the Coventry Crusaders Basketball Team for the 14 years but this year have handed it over to the Crew again. Gemini cheerleaders have become Qualified Coaches, even Qualified Judges - hey I am Vice President of the UK Cheerleading Association (former President) - anything is possible with the right team beside you.
Anyway, these pages, once complete, will help cheerleaders old, present and new experience their past, present and future with Gemini.
If you would like to join us....come along, we don't hold try-outs...EVERYONE WELCOME.
Welcome to Gemini

THE END OF AN ERA! – NEW BEGINNINGS!
New Classes commenced at our ‘huge’ new hall on Tuesday 1st September with the Senior and Junior ‘B’ Cheer class.
There will be a lot of new things happening over the next few weeks for everyone.
New registration forms, Rules and Regulations, Code of Conducts, Uniform Lists and more so watch the Notice Board - now the decorating is over............New Era Commences.
Our new home is the Transport and General Workers Union Building, Short Street, CV1 2LS and though no longer in Radford, it is easy to get to. The atmosphere is lovely with the chill-out zone and snack bar! Try us!
There is a slip-road that runs alongside the lane that takes you back onto the ring road. This will take you round to the new school. We have a car park that you pull into at the rear of the building.
You can see the TGWU Building very, very clearly from the roundabout.
If you get lost call me on 0777 592 3919
It is a work in progress with 16 years of history to cover so it will undoubtedly take us a while to get it 'sorted' and 'complete' but everything has to start somewhere.
My name is Sharyne Barson and in August 1994 the first Auditions for cheerleaders to represent the Coventry Crusaders Basketball Team were held.
We were the first Cheerleading Squad in the City
